Bio

Dr. Vickie Van Dresar earned a Bachelor of Science in Mathematics from Shenandoah University, Winchester, Virginia; a Master of Science in Mathematics from the University of Akron, Akron, Ohio; and a Doctor of Philosophy degree in Educational Mathematics from University of Northern Colorado, Greeley, Colorado. Dr. Van Dresar joined Ashland University in 1996. She has taught a variety of mathematics courses including: Finite Mathematics; Introduction to Programming I (in Pascal); Calculus I, II, and III; Discrete Mathematics I and II; and Mathematics Content for Elementary/Middle School Teachers. Dr. Van Dresar's research interests include Teaching Mathematics, Teacher's Beliefs about Mathematics, and Teacher's Beliefs about the Teaching of Mathematics. She is a member of the Mathematical Association of America (MAA), Ohio Section of the MAA (Ohio Section President 2008-2009), National Council of Teachers of Mathematics (NCTM), and Ohio Council of Teachers of Mathematics (OCTM).
